LUNAR SEAS for Two Guitars
In 1651 the Italian astronomer, Riccioli, bestowed romantic Latin names on the moon's maria, or "seas." The compositions in this set were named after five of these "seas."
The music was composed in 1976 for two guitars. In 1978 I made a piano - four hands arrangement for Joan Ball and Helen Twiss. Their performance can be heard here. Presently, the guitar duet is available as the hand written score, a reduced sample of which is below. Please listen to the entire suite performed on piano by Helen and Joan. If interested in the hand written guitar duet version, please contact me.
