FIVE LATE RENAISSANCE PIECES
for Three Recorders
Composed in 1981, these five pieces are very Late Renaissance, with various Twentieth Century compositional techniques combined with various Renaissance techniques and performed on ancient (or modern) instruments. The sub-titles are impressions, or fantasies, of the ancient music: Chanson, Bransles, Chanson, Lachrimae, Ricercar. First performance by Sue Curry, Jeanette Leifson and myself, c. 1982.
Mixed meters, intermediate difficulty.
Six 8.5" x 11" pages (seven pages, two of which are partial pages). Performance time is about 7 minutes 35 seconds.
